Aker Inspire Scholarship Program

Aker Energy, an oil and gas exploration company began operations in Ghana in 2018 and together with its partners Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, Fueltrade Ghana Ltd, and Lukoil Overseas, is developing the Deepwater Tano Cape Three Points block about 150 km offshore Ghana.

As part of its efforts to support the socioeconomic growth of Ghana, the company introduced its latest social investment program: the Aker Inspire Scholarship Program (AISP) in 2020 to provide scholarships to eligible promising but financially challenged Ghanaian students seeking to pursue tertiary level education in public institutions

By doing this, Aker Energy and its partners are making real its commitment to contribute to sustainable socio-economic growth by helping to develop and supply the necessary skills and expertise needed to strengthen Ghana’s growing and vibrant economy.

The AISP is a buildup on the hugely successful senior high school program (the Aker Energy-GNPC Scholarship Program) which has supported 1000 students since 2012 with tuition and lodging fees, edible and inedible provisions, pocket money and academic support materials such as textbooks, calculators, notebooks etc.

Aker Energy and its partners are proud to partner with the Government of Ghana’s efforts to realize Goal 4 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and thus forge a great future for Mother Ghana.
